Russell Rebalance Looms – Goldman Forecasts Who’s In, Who’s Out

FTSE Russell recently announced this year’s annual Russell Index rebalance will take effect after the market close on Friday, June 23. And with nearly $4 trillion of assets under management benchmarked to these indices, the rebalance is a big deal.

However, we note that FTSE Russell will release a preliminary list of additions and deletions to its various Russell indices after the close tomorrow (Friday, May 19), although the actual rebalancing will take place five weeks later.

This report from Goldman Sachs’ David Kostin identifies the stocks that we expect will be added to and deleted from the Russell 1000 and Russell 2000 indices as well as changes to the Russell 1000 Growth and Value style benchmarks.
