Speaker Johnson Won’t Budge on Jordan’s Criminal Conspiracy Judiciary Report

In a recent development in the potential Criminal Conspirarcy inquiry, the US House Judiciary Committee released a report shedding light on alleged political prosecution orchestrated against President Donald J. Trump. The report, titled “AN ANATOMY OF A POLITICAL PROSECUTION: THE MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE’S VENDETTA AGAINST PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,” was highlighted in a social media post by investigative journalist Julie Kelly and discussed on Steve Bannon’s WarRoom program.

The report, comprising 300 pages of detailed analysis, delves into an investigation initiated in 2018, suggesting a politically motivated effort to find legal grounds for prosecuting Trump. It outlines instances where misdemeanor allegations were elevated to felony charges using novel legal theories, a move previously declined by federal authorities.

Judiciary Republicans Release Report on the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Political Vendetta Against President Donald J. Trump

However, the report was buried, and not even President Trump knew about it.

A key figure in the investigation, Mark Pomerantz, is depicted as actively pursuing Trump and orchestrating pressure on District Attorney Alvin Bragg to take action. The report criticizes these actions, highlighting their unprecedented nature and potential to erode public trust in the criminal justice system.

Efforts by the Judiciary Committee to investigate the District Attorney’s prosecutorial conduct, including attempts to interview Pomerantz, faced legal hurdles. Despite earlier public statements hinting at prosecutorial misconduct, Pomerantz’s deposition before the Judiciary Committee reportedly revealed little.

The report concludes by underlining the importance of oversight and potential legislative reforms to prevent politically motivated prosecutions of presidents and presidential candidates by state and local prosecutors. This emphasis on legislative action was echoed by Bannon on the WarRoom program, where he called for urgent attention to the findings outlined in the report.

Bannon’s remarks brought attention to Representative Jim Jordan, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, ‘s role in advancing the report’s findings. Bannon, who earlier questioned Jordan’s actions, said that Jordan and his staff want to bring the case forward.

Bannon then slammed Speaker Mike Johnson’s apparent inaction regarding the report, saying Johnson was obstructing the report from going into action.

The sudden release of this report, at the same time Bannon, the WarRoom, Julie Kelly and others are applying pressure for a formal investigation,  adds fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding alleged lawfare corruption against Trump and his supporters.

The report now underscores the urgency for a congressional investigation and potential legislative measures to address concerns of political bias within the legal system.

As the public awaits further developments, pressure mounts on congressional leaders to take substantive action in response to the revelations from the House Judiciary Committee’s report. With calls for accountability and transparency, the focus shifts to how lawmakers will navigate these complex legal and political waters in the coming days.
