  • According to the former Secretary of State, the world can’t tackle climate change without first addressing the agriculture sector’s emissions – and farmers in the US are front and center of his plans.

60% of Americans Say Their Federal Income Tax Is Too High
  • Most Americans say their tax bill is too high and few think the tax code is fair, according to a poll from Gallup.
  • Six in 10 Americans say the amount of federal income tax they pay is “too high.” That’s the highest percentage since 2001.
  • Forty-six percent believe the income tax they pay is fair, more or less tying 1999’s 45 percent as the lowest in Gallup’s trend. A new high of 51 percent say their income taxes are not fair.
  • Complaints about federal income taxes are rising. The share who say the amount they pay is too high jumpedsix percentage points from a year ago and is 15 points from the recent low measured in 2018 and 2019.

  • President Biden   said he believes he has the authority to use the 14th Amendment to unilaterally address the debt ceiling, but he acknowledged potential legal challenges could still lead the nation to default if he went that route.

  •   Trump’s social media company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), has filed a defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post, seeking $3.78 billion in damages.
  • The lawsuit, filed in Sarasota County, Florida, accuses the newspaper of publishing a false and damaging article that poses an “existential threat” to TMTG’s Truth Social platform. According to the suit, The Washington Post published an “egregious hit piece” that wrongfully accused TMTG of securities fraud and other wrongdoing. It alleges that the newspaper has engaged in a long-standing campaign against TMTG by concealing relevant information in its possession. The Washington Post has yet to respond to the lawsuit as of Sunday.
  • The suit argues that the Post’s false criminal charges have caused TMTG to suffer public ridicule, contempt, and a loss of trust, thereby damaging the company’s business and reputation.

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has made a call for sovereign nations to relinquish some of their governance authority to a global body in order to combat various challenges, including health emergencies, climate change, and social and economic inequalities.

  • Every president since Ronald Reagan has mishandled classified documents, according to NARA officials.
  • Prior to former President Donald Trump, the Justice Department had not been involved in enforcing the Presidential Records Act, according to testimony from a National Archives and Records Administration official.
  • On Wednesday, the House Intelligence Committee released a transcript from an interview in March with NARA officials in which the agency’s chief operating officer, William Bosanko, testified that the agency had “found classified information in unclassified boxes” for all the presidential administrations “from Reagan forward.”
  • He also said the boxes of materials were in NARA’s custody at the time the agency made the discovery.
  • However, Bosanko, who said he has “worked at the National Archives for more than 30 years,” also said he was not aware that the DOJ had any involvement with enforcing the Presidential Records Act prior to Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence and President Joe Biden, all of whom were recently found to have classified document in their possession.

Retribution for Crossfire Hurricane is in order

  •  The difference between this and Watergate is that this calculated insurrection was plotted at the highest levels of our government. It corrupted our most cherished institutions of justice and was aided and celebrated by the press. When members of the political press now dismiss the findings of Mr. Durham’s report as “old news,” they are really admitting that they were in on it from the beginning.

    The root of this coup was a document called the Steele dossier, an absurd collection of drunken fantasies cooked up by intelligence hacks and paid for by Mrs. Clinton’s campaign and the DNC. (Through a bagman, of course.) It would become the Rosetta stone of Trump investigations that seized our government for years and would the gateway drug for Trump Derangement Syndrome.

    It was the original playbook the FBI used to wiretap political associates in the Trump campaign. Also, it was the only major Russian interference in the 2016 election since much of the fake dossier came from the Kremlin. It was the “insurance policy” that FBI agents insisted would prevent Mr. Trump from ever getting elected president.

    Think about that for a minute. Corrupt midlevel FBI agents were the foot soldiers in a conspiracy to thwart an election at the direction of the Department of Justice and even the White House.

    They even came up with a name for their conspiracy: Crossfire Hurricane.

    But the “insurance policy” failed, and Mr. Trump won. That’s when Crossfire Hurricane went from being a Watergate-style campaign hit to an insurrection of a duly elected president.

     In American law, there is a concept called “fruit of a poisonous tree”: Illegally obtained evidence — no matter how damning — is tossed out. In some cases, it is the only protection against rapaciously dishonest government prosecutors and dirty cops.

     

    Crossfire Hurricane is the fruit of a poisonous tree used to punish Mr. Trump, wreck his presidency and undo the 2016 election. The only just response now is for voters to elect him in 2024. You cannot let them get away with this.

    Otherwise, they will undo the next election and the one after that — until they are stopped.
